The Comi has come and gone in a few different versions over the years. And every time we think it’s seen its last hurrah we have people crawling out of the woodwork begging for just one more run. Nothing, they say, comes anywhere close when it comes to performance in steep and deep—and we mean REALLY steep and deep—not just your favorite chair lift on a storm day.
When you’re riding helicopters instead of lifts and dropping thousands of vert at a shake the math is a little different—hence the Comi’s beefed out, downright gluttonous dimensions. It may not make sense to you but to the late Greg Harms, the rest of the crew at Third Edge Heli, and countless other heli guides and outfits the world over—it’s perfect. The predictable, stable nature of the front rocker/swallow tail design let’s the guides ski how they want and clients without powder skis punch far above their weight. We’ll trust their judgement; when it comes to the steepest, deepest, most hair raising and puckered boo-yah lines out there—they know best.
